Despite the film being a box office dud in its original theater run, it has a huge fan base. Fans are especially pleased with Andrea’s role in the film. However, fans showed their love for the film when it was recently released in theaters for a second run after all these years, proving it to be a classic in Tamil cinema.

With fans eagerly waiting for Aayirathil Oruvan 2, Andrea Jeremiah recently made a surprising revelation about the sequel.
Speaking at a recent event, the actress was asked whether she would return for the second part. Responding candidly, she said, “Don’t expect me in ‘Aayirathil Oruvan 2’. I will be happy if the film is made, but I won’t be a part of it.” Andrea added that the first film gave her a memorable experience and helped her grow as an actor, but she has chosen not to reprise her role in the sequel.
Her statement quickly went viral online and sparked discussion among fans who had hoped to see her return.
Actress recalls challenging experience working with Selvaraghavan
Andrea further spoke about the intense experience of working on the first film with Selvaraghavan. She revealed that the film was shot in 200 days, and this was one of the most exhausting projects that she had worked on. She stated that the film did have its impact on her career. “Working on ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ was a great learning experience. After that film, acting in other projects felt easier,” she said. However, she also admitted that collaborating with Selvaraghavan can be extremely tough.
“Working with Selvaraghavan is very challenging,” she noted, explaining why she prefers not to be part of the sequel.
Andrea continues to stay busy with multiple film projects
Meanwhile, Andrea Jeremiah remains busy with several upcoming film projects while also focusing on her music career and live concerts. She is currently part of director Vetrimaaran’s upcoming film 'Arasan.' She has completed the shooting of 'Manushi', directed by Gopi Nainar, but the release of the film has been delayed owing to censorship issues. In addition to this, Andrea is eager to see 'Pisasu 2', a film by Mysskin, being released.
Although there are a number of her films that are waiting to be released, she still remains one of the most sought-after actresses in the Tamil film industry.
