Infuriated over the alleged delay in supply of urea, a group of irate farmers allegedly pelted stones at a fertilizer outlet in Mahabubabad late on Thursday afternoon, triggering mild tension in the district headquarters town.
Farmers turned furious after standing in a long queue for several hours when the staff at the fertilizer outlet reportedly failed to address their queries on the exact stock of urea and give satisfactory reply over the alleged inordinate delay in supply of the fertilizer, sources said.
Sources added that the staff reportedly closed the shutters and left the outlet abruptly, leaving the farmers agitated.
A group of enraged farmers allegedly hurled stones at the outlet and tried to enter into the warehouse attached to it.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
