Anna University sexual assault case: Tamil Nadu government’s measures ensured speedy justice, says DMK leader R.S. Bharathi

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s (DMK) organisation secretary R.S. Bharathi said the assertive measures taken by the Tamil Nadu government ensured conviction of the lone accused Gnanasekar in the Anna University sexual assault case.

The judgement has been delivered within five months. The State government ensured the immediate arrest of the culprit, he said in a statement.

The government put forth strong arguments in the case before the court and ensured a speedy judgement, Mr. Bharathi said.

The judgement is proof that the Dravidian model government is firm on preventing crimes against women and getting speedy justice, he said.
