Kendrick Perkins places Anthony Edwards ahead of Stephen Curry while questioning All-Star selection
The NBA announced the starters of the All-Star games on January 19. Since then, various opinions have dropped in regarding the selection. One such opinion has caught everyone’s attention. Former NBA veteran Kendrick Perkins believes that the selection of Stephen Curry is not justified. According to him, there are players who would have made a better selection.
Perkins exclusively mentioned the Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.
In the latest episode of the Road Tripping Show Podcast, Perkins stated, “There’s no way Anthony Edwards should not be starting in the West. He’s having a career year damn near averaging 30. Shooting 50 from the field. 40 from the 3. His team is 4th in the Western Conference.”
The former Boston Celtics star further added, “If you’re asking me who I gotta remove, it’s Steph Curry! You can’t sit up here and justify and tell me why Steph should be ahead of Anthony Edwards right now.” Perkins went ahead to justify his statement, “All I’m saying is if we going on this year, Ant is more deserving than Steph to be in the All-Star game. So Ant just having a career year, **** It, huh?”
Who are the other players selected as All-Star starters?
In the Western Conference, Stephen Curry joins the list featuring Luka Doncic from the Los Angeles Lakers, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the Oklahoma City Thunder, Nikola Jokic from the Denver Nuggets and the San Antonio Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama. From the Eastern Conference, the players who got selected as starters are the New York Knicks’ Jalen Brunson, the Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Philadelphia 76ers’ Tyrese Maxey, Cade Cunningham from the Detroit Pistons and Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics.
