‘Anupamaa’ January 21 written update: Anupama confronts Rajni over her actions as Rahi continues to blame her mother

The latest episode starts with Anupama and Rajni’s altercation, where the latter admits that she is jealous of the former. Rajni says that she cannot believe the amount of love and affection that Anupama gets from the people around her.

Rajni expresses her jealousy towards Anupama

Rajni is seen recalling how hard she worked all of her life to build something. She, however, points out that nothing was ever appreciated. She quips about how Prerna hates her too because she would work all of the time and would not give her as much attention as she should have. She then compares her situation to Anupama's and sarcastically comments that, after everything, Rahi’s mother has managed to garner everyone’s support and love.Rajni also recalled a moment from her high school, where she had won a medal in a competition, but people had praised Anupama instead.

Anupama criticizes Rajni

Anupama hears all of this and criticizes Rajni for taking her anger out on poor people. She comments that there is nothing that she can do with this much money. She quotes that even Sikander, who had the most wealth, died empty-handed. Rajni then recalls all of the hard times that she has been through, and even reveals that Raghubeer used to abuse her.

Rahi and Prem talk about Anupama

Meanwhile, the scene shifts to Rahi and Prem talking about Anupama. While Prem tries to reassure her that everything will work out, Rahi expresses her anger. She talks about how Anupama’s earlier promise also fell through, so how will she be able to keep her latest promise to save the chawl? She blames Anupama for everything that is happening while Prem tries to control the situation.

Rajni tries to get Anupama to join hands with her

As the two argue, Rajni tries to convince Anupama to forget everything and side with her.

She points out that for her to succeed, the poor people have to suffer. As Anupama tells her to apologize to the residents of the chawl and give them back their home, Rajni has her thrown out of her house.Anupama then visits a nearby temple, talking to god about how unfair everything is. She quips that god should help the residents and save their homes. Parag arrives at the temple and tells Anupama that he was completely unaware of Rajni’s antics.
