Apple may release iOS 26.4 with a revamped Siri powered by Google's Gemini models: Report

Apple recently announced a partnership with Gemini to power its next-generation voice assistant Siri with Gemini models. Now, an X (formerly Twitter) post by Brandon Butch claims that the iPhone maker may release the first Gemini-based iPhone features with iOS 26.4.

The software update is said to roll out in coming months with beta testing next month, i.e. February 2026. “iOS 26.4 is expected to introduce a revamped Siri powered by Google's Gemini models, running on-device and through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute for privacy,” the post said.

What new features may come with Gemini-powered Siri

An Information report recently outlined several new features for Siri that will be powered by Gemini models. These may include:

  • Improved emotional support when a user says they are “feeling lonely or disheartened.”
  • Offer factual answers with a “conversational answer” similar to ChatGPT and Gemini chatbots.
  • Ability to perform tasks like creating a document in Apple Notes about a specific subject.
  • Tell stories and handle situations where Siri doesn’t clearly understand the question asked by users.


iOS 26.4 expected launch date

As mentioned above, the beta testing of iOS 26.4 is likely to begin in February. According to reports, Apple may launch iOS 26.4 in spring 2026 with substantial features like a redesigned Health app with simplified metric logging, credit card autofill for third-party apps, and folders in the Freeform app.Additional iOS 26.4 features may include a "Sports Tier" for the Apple TV app, enhanced device security before Apple ID login, and "Precise Outdoor Location" tracking for AirPods in Find My app.
