World No. 1 Jannik Sinner booked his place in the ATP Finals semi-finals with a commanding 6-4, 6-3 win over Alexander Zverev on Wednesday, sealing qualification from the Bjorn Borg group with a match to spare.
The defending champion delighted his home crowd in Turin, maintaining his title defence with another composed performance.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. The Italian, who thrashed Zverev in the semi-finals of the Paris Masters earlier this month, was once again relentless on serve — firing 12 aces and conceding just one break point opportunity throughout the contest. The match turned in Sinner’s favour late in the opening set when he capitalised on his third break point in the 10th game. From there, he never looked back.“If we watch the match today, there were one or two points, that’s why I won the first set,” Sinner told reporters. “Couple of points, that’s why I won the second set. If those points go the other way, maybe it’s the same score in the opposite way. You never know.”

Was Jannik Sinner's performance against Zverev impressive?
Zverev, who needed to win in straight sets to qualify for the semis, struggled to take his chances — wasting seven break points and often appearing frustrated by unforced errors and a flickering advertising board mid-match.
“He’s not unplayable. I had many opportunities. He had one, he used it. This is why he’s number one in the world,” Zverev said post-match.Sinner will next face Ben Shelton, aiming to top the group and likely set up a semi-final clash with the runner-up from the Jimmy Connors group, currently led by Carlos Alcaraz.Meanwhile, Felix Auger-Aliassime revived his semi-final hopes with a gritty 4-6, 7-6 (9/7), 7-5 comeback win over Shelton. “I think I played great, very aggressive... it paid off,” Auger-Aliassime told Sky Sport. The Canadian will now face Zverev in a high-stakes final group match on Friday, with a semi-final berth on the line.
