Autorickshaw driver arrested for cutting cake with sword

The Gouribidanur police on Sunday arrested a 28-year-old autorikshaw driver for allegedly cutting his birthday cake with a sword at his village on Saturday.

The accused Anil Kumar, resident of Lagumenahalli, was celebrating his birthday with his friends and allegedly cut the cake with a sword. One of his friends recorded the celebration on his mobile phone and shared it on his social media account. The video went viral .

Taking cognisance of this, the jurisdictional police took up a suo motu case and tracked down Anil Kumar. He was arrested on charges of public nuisance and under the arms Act and the police seized the sword for further investigation.

The police recorded his statement and released him on station bail with a set of conditions .
