Jaxson Dart, the New York Giants’ first-round rookie quarterback, impressed again on Thursday night, August 21, 2025, in a preseason matchup. The game was played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, and head coach Brian Daboll was full of praise afterward.
Dart completed 6 of 12 passes for 81 yards, threw a touchdown, and showed his ability to run with the ball. Despite taking a hard hit on a 23-yard scramble, Daboll said he was glad the team drafted Dart.
Brian Daboll says Jaxson Dart is “our guy”
Speaking to reporters after the game, Brian Daboll made it clear how much faith he has in Jaxson Dart.“Being a rookie quarterback is not easy — being a quarterback is not easy,” Daboll said. “He knows he has a lot of things to work on, but he’s made progress every day. I’m glad we drafted him, I’m glad he’s our guy.”Daboll also talked about Dart’s long run in the second quarter, which ended with a big hit.
The coach admired Dart’s competitiveness but noted it would have been safer to slide.“Every situation is different, but in a preseason game, you want to avoid that kind of hit,” Daboll added.
