B’putra Board holds meeting to revitalise Tlawng river

Aizawl: A crucial consultation meeting of the Brahmaputra Board was held on Friday in Aizawl, hosted by Mizoram irrigation and water Resources Department (IWRD). The meeting, titled ‘Stakeholder Consultation on Revitalising Tlawng River through Springshed Management & Allied Strategies,’ aimed to rejuvenate the Tlawng river, a vital water source for Aizawl city and Lunglei town in south Mizoram.The meet saw participation from representatives of Mizoram University, the central committee of YMA, the Centre for Environment & Social Justice, and Project Save Tlawng. Experts from IIT Roorkee, along with officials from the state PHE department and IWRD, also contributed to the discussions. CM Lalduhoma attended the afternoon session of the event.
