Can Pete Carroll’s confidence overcome Kansas City’s rising momentum?

Kansas City Chiefs are gaining momentum, winning three of their last four games, and appear ready to face the Las Vegas Raiders. Patrick Mahomes is performing at an MVP level, bolstered by a cohesive receiving corps, now further strengthened by Rashee Rice's return. The Raiders, under new coach Pete Carroll, must generate pressure on Mahomes to disrupt the Chiefs' offense.

The Kansas City Chiefs are riding high as they prepare to host the Las Vegas Raiders in a Week 7 AFC West showdown at Arrowhead Stadium. With three wins in their last four games, Kansas City appears to be regaining the dominant form that helped them go 5-1 in divisional play last season.

But this matchup has a new wrinkle: the Raiders are now led by longtime NFL head coach Pete Carroll, who brings a new edge and attitude to a team still finding its identity.

Chiefs’ offense is heating up just in time

The defending Super Bowl champions didn’t start the season the way many expected. A disappointing loss to the Chargers in Week 1 set the tone for a rocky 0-2 start. But since then, the Chiefs have turned things around. Last week’s commanding victory over the Detroit Lions showed what Kansas City is capable of when firing on all cylinders.

Patrick Mahomes continues to play at an MVP level, but what’s really making a difference is the cohesion among his receivers. “That receiving room, they love each other and they want each other to do good,” Mahomes said. “So when you have that mindset as a whole room, you can have a lot of success.”The group gets an added boost this week with the return of Rashee Rice, who has completed his six-game suspension. Reports from practice suggest he hasn’t missed a beat, and his presence adds a dangerous weapon to an already deep group that includes Xavier Worthy, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Hollywood Brown, and Tyquan Thornton.

Raiders must back up Pete Carroll’s bold words with pressure on Mahomes

While the Chiefs are rounding into form, the Raiders are still a bit of an unknown under Carroll’s leadership. One thing is clear: they’re not coming into Kansas City to play the role of underdog. “It doesn’t matter who we play or where we play them,” Carroll said during his final press conference before the matchup.

But belief needs to be matched by execution. If the Raiders hope to slow down Kansas City’s surging offense, it starts up front. Their pass rush must pressure Mahomes early and often; anything less could lead to a long afternoon at Arrowhead. Also Read: "Holy s**t": Travis Kelce can’t believe ‘SNL legend’ Maya Rudolph watched his hosting debut and praised his performance
