The Prabhas, Rana Daggubati starrer touches Rs 30 crore in India

'Baahubali: The Epic’, featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia, arrived in cinemas on October 31. The special presentation merges both parts of the iconic saga into one grand cinematic experience.

In its first five days, the film collected around Rs 25 crore across India, though it witnessed a significant dip after the weekend.

The re-release earned approximately Rs 1.15 crore from paid previews, followed by Rs 9.65 crore on Friday, Rs 7.25 crore on Saturday, and Rs 6.30 crore on Sunday. Monday saw a sharp drop to Rs 1.65 crore, while Tuesday brought in around Rs 1.95 crore. On Wednesday (day six), the collection stood at Rs 1.50 crore, and by Thursday it slipped further to Rs 1 crore, taking the total to Rs 30.70 crore. The re-release marks the 10th anniversary of the franchise, with remastered visuals and sound design. Trade experts note that it has already emerged among the top-performing Indian re-releases, moving towards a domestic total of nearly Rs 30 crore within its first week, according to Sacnilk. While the numbers are commendable for a re-release, analysts believe the sharp weekday decline stems from audience familiarity with the story and the film’s extensive 225-minute runtime. As a result, newer releases like ‘Thamma’ and ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ managed to take the lead midweek. Nevertheless, ‘Baahubali’ and its sequel remain monumental in Indian cinema history, having redefined box office benchmarks both in India and overseas.

However, this condensed four-hour version—with only selective sequences from both films—appears to have limited appeal for audiences who have already witnessed the original spectacle.
