Baburaj’s family sends legal notice against ‘defamatory remarks’

Family members of late music composer M.S. Baburaj have sent a legal notice to a Kozhikode resident for “making factually incorrect and defamatory remarks” against his wife, Bicha Baburaj, and their children, in a social media group.

The notice issued by M.S. Sabira, Baburaj’s eldest daughter, said that Salam or ‘Baby Care’ Salam, a resident of Eranhipalam in Kozhikode city, had made the remarks in a WhatsApp group titled ‘Kozhikode Kala Samskarika Vedi’. The family members said that they had been ignoring the many stories and untrue remarks being made against Baburaj over the past many years.

However, Mr. Salam was found to have made the remarks against the late composer’s wife Bicha Baburaj and their children. If he did not tender a public apology and give ₹1 crore as compensation, civil and criminal proceedings would be initiated against Mr. Salam, said the notice.
