Agartala: The Bangladesh govt has voiced strong discontent following the killing of three of its citizens in Tripura’s Khowai district, urging New Delhi to conduct a swift and unbiased investigation into the incident. The three Bangladeshi nationals were reportedly attacked by a mob in Vidyabil village, a border area, on Oct 15. They were accused of attempting to steal cattle, an allegation that led to a violent confrontation. This incident followed an earlier assault on two Indian villagers, one of whom, Mithu Telanga, later died from his injuries. In a statement released on Friday, the Bangladesh ministry of foreign affairs condemned the “brutal beating and killing” of its nationals, describing the event as “an unacceptable and grave violation of human rights and the rule of law.”“The Government of Bangladesh expresses serious concern regarding this tragic event and urges the Government of India to ensure an immediate, impartial, and transparent investigation while taking sincere measures to prevent such inhumane acts in the future,” the statement said.“The individuals responsible must be identified and held accountable.
