Tension flared near the Assistant High Commission of India in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, as protesters attempted to march towards the mission, leading to a brief clash with security personnel. Meanwhile, India resumed visa centre operations in Dhaka on Thursday after shutting them down for a day, even as the Indian Visa Application Centres (IVACs) in Khulna and Rajshahi remained closed, citing security concerns.

In Rajshahi, authorities stepped up security in the area to prevent the situation from escalating and to maintain order.

According to sources, protesters warned of "bloodshed" to wash away what they described as injustice and said they would take up swords or other arms if necessary.
