Urban mobility in Bengaluru increasingly depends on how well different modes of public transport connect with one another. As Metro ridership continues to rise, the focus has gradually shifted to last-mile travel, especially in neighbourhoods where reaching a station remains a daily challenge.
Bus feeder services play a crucial role in closing this gap, particularly for commuters who rely on public transport end to end. It is in this context that BMTC has announced the introduction of a new Metro feeder route in east Bengaluru.
BMTC introduces new Metro feeder route MF-10B from December 22
For the benefit of commuters, BMTC has introduced a new non-AC Metro feeder service starting December 22, 2025. The new route, numbered MF-10B, will operate between Tinfactory and Bidarahalli, providing a direct bus connection through TC Palya Cross, Kittaganaru and the East Point College back gate.
The feeder route has been designed to improve access to Metro connectivity for residents living in interior layouts and growing residential pockets in east Bengaluru, where direct links to major transit hubs have remained limited.
Why the new feeder route matters
Tinfactory is a major transit point in east Bengaluru, handling significant commuter movement due to its proximity to Metro infrastructure, industrial zones and arterial roads. At the same time, areas such as Bidarahalli and Kittaganaru have seen steady residential growth, with increasing demand for reliable public transport.
For many commuters in these areas, reaching a Metro station often involves multiple changes or dependence on autos and private vehicles. The MF-10B feeder route aims to simplify this journey by offering a scheduled, direct bus link between neighbourhoods and a key transit hub.
Route details and bus deployment
As per BMTC’s official information, the route number for the new feeder service is MF-10B. It will operate from Tinfactory to Bidarahalli via TC Palya Cross, Kittaganaru and the East Point College back gate.
In the initial phase, BMTC has deployed 1 bus on this route. The number of buses assigned is an important detail for commuters, as it determines frequency and potential waiting time. With a single bus operating the service, passengers are advised to plan travel around the fixed timetable, particularly during peak hours.
Timings commuters should note
BMTC has issued the route-wise timetable as Annexure A. The feeder service will run multiple trips in both directions through the day, allowing commuters to align their bus travel with Metro timings and work schedules.
| Departure point | Timings |
| Tinfactory | 8:50 AM, 10:50 AM, 12:25 PM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 5:35 PM |
| Bidarahalli | 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:35 AM, 1:10 PM, 3:15 PM, 4:45 PM |
The timings cover morning, afternoon and early evening travel windows. Commuters are advised to arrive at bus stops a little early, especially during the first few days of operation, as traffic conditions may affect running time.
Non-AC feeder service focus
The MF-10B has been introduced as a non-AC service, in line with BMTC’s feeder bus model that prioritises affordability and short-distance connectivity. These services are intended to complement Metro travel by handling the first and last leg of a commute rather than replacing longer bus routes.
By strengthening feeder connectivity, BMTC aims to make public transport more practical for daily use, reduce congestion around Metro stations and lower reliance on private vehicles for short trips.
What commuters should keep in mind
Since the route is starting with only one bus, crowding may occur during peak periods, particularly in the morning and early evening. Any changes to frequency or additional buses will depend on passenger response and demand assessment.
BMTC has stated that route-wise timetable details are available through its official communication systems, and commuters should watch for updates if adjustments are made.
A step toward better last-mile connectivity
The launch of the MF-10B feeder route reflects BMTC’s ongoing effort to strengthen last-mile connectivity as Bengaluru’s Metro network expands. For residents of Bidarahalli, Kittaganaru and surrounding areas, the new route offers a structured and predictable public transport option starting December 22, making every day commuting a little more manageable.
