The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched an extensive sticker campaign as part of the ongoing comprehensive survey of Scheduled Caste (SC) households across the city.
The initiative, aimed at gathering scientific data on 101 SC communities, is currently underway in all eight BBMP zones and is being closely monitored by Zonal and Joint Commissioners.
Teams of enumerators are visiting households and affixing stickers at entrances to confirm participation in the survey. As of now, the BBMP has covered 1.84 lakh SC households and over 32 lakh general households, identifying 6.72 lakh SC individuals.
“To further the campaign, BBMP has deployed volunteer teams comprising students from NSS and NCC to distribute stickers. These stickers contain QR codes that allow residents who haven’t yet participated to complete the survey online. Additionally, citizens can visit their nearest BBMP ward office or Bengaluru One Centre to take part,” BBMP said on Monday.
The deadline for completing the survey has been extended to June 30, 2025. BBMP has urged all remaining households to cooperate in order to ensure 100% survey coverage.
