A BJP worker was beaten to death in West Bengal's Nadia district after he intervened in an argument between locals. The victim, Sanjay Bhowmick, was chased and then attacked inside his home. He succumbed to his injuries on Friday.

On Thursday night, Bhowmick was returning home when he witnessed several young men engaged in a dispute. According to reports, after Bhowmick attempted to mediate, the men redirected their aggression towards him.

Despite seeking refuge inside his own house, the assailants chased and thrashed him inside the premises.

Following the attack, Bhowmick was rushed to the Nabadwip State General Hospital with serious injuries. Despite treatment, he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have sent his body for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

The news of Bhowmick’s death quickly spread, prompting local BJP leaders to gather at the hospital.
