BENGALURU: In an effort to support talented tennis players from India, AI-native automotive platform company Tekion has partnered with the Sports Excellence Trust (SET), based at the Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence (CSE) in Bengaluru. As part of the partnership, Tekion will support the training and travel needs of promising young tennis players Srikar Doni (17) and Saumya Ronde (19), who are training under the guidance of tennis legend Rohan Bopanna at the Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy (RBTA) at CSE.“Unlike other sports, which receive support from their respective federations, tennis is largely self-funded at the early stages. As a result, talented players often cut short their careers due to lack of funds.
We are identifying players with potential and skill, and helping them financially through CSR donations,” said Shyamsundar Pani, Vice-President of SET.“Our CSR philosophy is about creating tangible, on-ground impact. Partnering with a legend like Rohan Bopanna ensures these young players receive world-class mentorship to match their ambitions,” said Aravind Gowda, Senior Director at Tekion.Doni, from Karnataka, competes in Boys’ Under-18 Singles, while Saumya participates in ITF Singles tournaments. Both players will continue to receive phased support as part of the partnership.
