Bengaluru rains: Bowring Hospital wall collapse leaves a trail of loss, pain, and grief

Mubeen Taj keeps asking about her six-year-old niece Musfira, even while in pain. Taj is one among the many who have been admitted with injuries at the Bowring Hospital, after a compound wall collapsed on her as torrential rains pounded the city on April 29, 2026.

Musfira, who was with her, taking shelter from the rains, passed away in the fatal incident which claimed six other lives.

Seven persons were killed and seven others were injured after a portion of the compound wall of Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital collapsed during heavy rain in the city’s Shivajinagar area on April 29, 2026.
