The Bengaluru Traffic Police on Thursday carried out an awareness drive across multiple police station limits to promote road safety and compliance with traffic regulations.
At K.G. Halli and Mahadevapura, the officers educated two-wheeler riders on the importance of wearing ISI-marked full helmets and adhering to traffic norms. Similar initiatives were held under the limits at key junctions, including Tin Factory, K.R. Puram Metro Station, Hoodi, and Hope Farm.
At all locations, the officers interacted with motorists and autorickshaw drivers, highlighting the significance of following traffic rules such as maintaining lane discipline, stopping behind the stop line, and wearing uniforms for autorickshaw drivers. They also explained the consequences of violations and encouraged responsible behaviour on the roads.
In addition, students from WOW Kids Chiguru Preschool, Gottigere, visited the Hulimavu Traffic Police Station, where they learned about basic traffic rules, the meaning of signal lights, and safe road-crossing practices. Likewise, the officers from the Adugodi Traffic Police Station conducted a session at PNS School, spreading awareness among schoolchildren.
A senior police officer told The Hindu that the drive was aimed at fostering a culture of safety among all categories of road users, from motorists to school students. The Bengaluru City Traffic Police said such initiatives would continue across the city in the coming days to ensure better compliance and safer roads.
