Iran’s foreign ministry on Sunday condemned the US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, accusing Washington of betraying diplomatic talks and beginning a “dangerous war" against the Islamic Republic.
In an official statement, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the US’ “brutal military aggression against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities", saying it was in contravention of international law and revealed the extent of US hostility against Tehran.
“The war-mongering and lawless regime of the United States of America is held fully responsible for the dangerous consequences and far-reaching implications of this egregious act of aggression and heinous crime," it said, adding that Tehran is resolved to defend its territory and sovereignty by all force and means against this “criminal aggression".
It further said, “The US unlawful attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, which occurred in the early hours of the 10th day of Israel’s military aggression against Iran, has unequivocally exposed Washington’s criminal complicity with the Zionist regime in orchestrating and waging a war against Iran."

Iran also urged an emergency session at the UN Security Council to condemn the attacks, warning that silence in the face of such aggression would “plunge the world into an unprecedented level of danger and chaos." It also criticised the UN International Atomic Energy Agency’s evident bias that caused the recent catastrophe.
“The world must not forget that it was the United States that, in the midst of a diplomatic process, betrayed diplomacy by supporting the genocidal and lawbreaking Israeli regime to impose a war of aggression on the Iranian nation. Now, in completion of that regime’s unlawful and criminal acts, the United States itself has launched a dangerous war against the Islamic Republic of Iran," it added.
Tensions escalated dramatically in the Middle East after US President Donald Trump announced that the United States had completed a “very successful attack" on three nuclear sites in Iran – including Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.
Israeli leaders lauded Trump’s “bold decision" to attack nuclear sites in Iran as both arch-enemies traded fire again on the 10th day of the ongoing conflict. Over 400 people have been killed in Iran since Israel’s June 13 attack.
