Javokhir Sindarov wins FIDE Candidates open section, Bibisara Assaubayeva tied for first in women's event, their mutual praise fuels dating speculation.

Bibisara Assaubayeva has once again fuelled speculation about her relationship with Javokhir Sindarov after he secured victory in the open section of the FIDE Candidates Tournament in Pegeia, Cyprus. Sindarov clinched his triumph with a draw against Anish Giri in the penultimate round, taking an unassailable lead at the top of the standings.

Meanwhile, Assaubayeva is also enjoying a strong campaign in the women’s section, where she is currently tied for first place with R Vaishali heading into the final round.

Shortly after Sindarov’s victory was confirmed, Assaubayeva shared a post on her Telegram channel featuring a picture of the two of them along with the caption “My champion" and a heart emoji, adding further intrigue to the ongoing dating rumours.

Bibisara Assaubayeva-Javokhir Sindarov Confirmed?

While neither player has officially confirmed their relationship, their public support for each other has been evident throughout the tournament. Speaking after her win over Anna Muzychuk, Assaubayeva expressed her happiness at Sindarov’s achievement. “I am very happy for him and very proud because I know him for the last five years and we grew up looking at each other’s achievements and he is one of the kindest person in the world I think," she said. She added, “I am happy that he won. He absolutely deserves it."

Sindarov, too, acknowledged Assaubayeva’s strong position in the women’s section and indicated his support. “I will try to how to support Sara. She has also very good chance," he said after his Round 13 draw.

With an impressive score of 9.5 out of 13, Sindarov has delivered one of the most dominant performances in recent Candidates history, holding a two-point lead over Giri. In contrast, the women’s section remains tightly contested, with Assaubayeva and Vaishali on 7.5 points, while Zhu Jiner trails closely by just half a point, setting up an exciting final round.
