Independent MP from Purnea, Pappu Yadav, on Friday (October 31, 2025) condemned the recent violence in Mokama that claimed the life of a Jan Suraaj supporter, Dularchand Yadav, alleging that political candidates are being increasingly targeted during the ongoing Bihar election campaign and accusing the BJP and its allies of promoting criminal elements in politics.

The Election Commission sought a report from the Bihar director general of police on the murder of a Jan Suraaj Party supporter in Mokama, which led to a flare-up in the area, officials said.

Meanwhile, taking a swipe at the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) over its manifesto launch, the Congress claimed that the ruling coalition had wrapped up its press conference in “just 26 seconds”.
