To mark Prime Minister Narendra Narendra Modi’s birthday, the BJP’s Bihar unit will screen a short film on his early life, ‘Chalo Jeete Hai‘ (Come, let’s live), in all 243 Assembly constituencies of the poll-bound State.
For this purpose, the party despatched 243 vans, each with a large screen, from Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on Tuesday, the eve of Mr. Modi’s birthday.

BJP State president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde, Health Minister Mangal Pandey and Union Minister Nityanand Rai flagged off the vans. “These chariots will work to spread the message of service and dedication through the film ‘Chalo Jeete Hain’ , based on the inspirational childhood of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in all the Assembly constituencies, so that every citizen can take inspiration from his life full of service, struggle and determination,” Mr. Jaiswal said after flagging off the vans.
The synopsis of the short film says that as a young boy, Mr. Modi was inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s quote, ‘Only those who live for others, actually live”.
‘Inspirational film’
Mr. Choudhary said the film will inspire the common man as it shows that even a poor man’s son can become the Prime Minister. He appealed to the people to spread this message to every household.
Apart from the screening, blood donation and various public service programmes will be organised under the ‘Seva Pakhwada‘ (service fortnight) in the entire State from September 17 to October 2.
“The Modi government has taken many historic steps to provide relief to the public. Earlier, there was a tax [GST] on roti, bread and paratha, which was abolished by Modiji. Today, the country is moving towards a new India under his leadership,” Mr. Choudhary said. “Through the short film and service programmes, the stories of PM Modi’s simplicity, struggle and fighting spirit will be taken to every village and every home. A deeper dialogue will be established between the party workers and the public,” he added.
Mr. Rai said these “chariots” will reach every corner of Bihar, and the film will be screened at more than 50,000 places.
Mr. Rai, the Lok Sabha MP from Ujiarpur and former Bihar BJP president, said, “It is not a film but reality, the reality which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lived as a child. The journey to reach the post of Prime Minister was never easy for him. His childhood was spent in poverty and difficulties, but Modiji never gave up.” He said Mr. Modi took the adverse circumstances as a challenge and entered the political field so that the coming generations does not have to face these difficulties.
