A global reunion of former students, Rigama-25, was held at the Mavelikara Bishop Moore College on Saturday. The global meet, organised under the aegis of Mavelikara Bishop Moore College Alumni Association as part of the college’s diamond jubilee celebrations, was inaugurated by Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri, vice-chairperson of Mata Amritanandamayi Math and an alumnus of the college.
Bishop Moore College manager and CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese Bishop Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian, Culture Minister Saji Cherian, filmmaker Kamal, MLAs M.S. Arunkumar and Pramod Narayanan, Bishop Moore College Principal Ranjith Mathew Abraham, global meet chairperson K.G. Mukundan and others spoke on the occasion.
Following the inauguration, meetings with former teachers (Mitra Sathram) were held in various classrooms, while cultural programmes (Kalikkootam) took place at the auditorium.
A Rangapooja by college students was held in the afternoon. It was followed by a group dance by teachers, dances by Anjana P., Gatha Murali, and Ayona Ann Sebastian, a Kathakali performance by Meenakshi V. Nair, and a monodrama ‘Kanakku Naarapilla’ by Alex Vallikunnam. The day concluded with a musical concert (Rigama Sarigama) featuring distinguished alumni from different periods.
