Condemning the attacks on minorities and the recent vandalism of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral house in Bangladesh, the BJP held a protest march in Agartala on Monday.

The protest saw the participation of state BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, and other party leaders like Subal Bhowmik, Bhagaban Das, and Mimi Majumdar.

The rally started from the Swami Vivekananda Maidan and concluded near the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala.

“We condemn the attack on Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral home and violence against minority communities in Bangladesh. Till now, the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus has not arrested the culprits,” Bhattacharjee told reporters.

Similar protest marches were organised in other parts of the state, including Kailasahar in Unakoti district, Raghna international border in North Tripura district, Sonamura in Sepahijala district, and Belonia in South Tripura district, on Saturday.
