The Bengaluru police have booked BJP leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy and Mysuru MLA Srivathsa for allegedly making objectionable remarks about the Kuruba community while opposing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

The FIR was registered after a farmer from Hubballi lodged a complaint alleging that the two BJP leaders, while voicing opposition to the demand for Scheduled Tribe status for Kurubas, insulted the community.

Vidhana Soudha police have booked the leaders under Section 353(2) of the BNS (statements conducing to public mischief).
