The body of a four-year-old girl lying under a parked car on a dimly lit road in Ghaziabad set off a chain of events that would soon reveal a crime both brutal and deeply disturbing.

It was around 8 pm on April 11 when a police patrol received word of a child’s body under a vehicle on an 80-foot road in the Shalimar Garden area. Officers rushed to the spot, only to find the lifeless child tucked beneath the car.

As police began piecing together her last movements, suspicion quickly narrowed. The accused, police say, was her own uncle, Jameel alias Chhotu, who lived barely a kilometre away.

According to the complaint, the child had been alone at home when he took advantage of the moment. He allegedly lured her to his room. Hours later, her body was found dumped under a car, as if someone had tried to make her disappear in plain sight.

POST-MORTEM DEEPENS HORROR

Police said the post-mortem has confirmed that the child was raped and strangled before her body was concealed.

“The post-mortem report has confirmed that the girl was raped and killed and after that the body was concealed,” a senior officer said, as reported by PTI.

Injury marks on the neck and private parts pointed to the brutality she suffered.

GRIEF TURNS INTO ANGER

Family members, struggling to come to terms with the loss, have accused the man of having a troubling past. Their grief has spilled onto the streets, with demands for immediate arrest and strict punishment.

Some relatives have called for a police “encounter”, while women in the area gathered, demanding justice.

Police have registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with provisions of the POCSO Act.

Police said multiple teams are carrying out raids to track down the accused, who remains on the run. “The culprit will be nabbed soon,” an officer said, as teams fan out across nearby areas.
