Police rushed to Arun Vijay's Chennai home after a bomb threat email, but found no explosives. Investigation continues.

A major security scare unfolded at Tamil actor Arun Vijay’s Chennai residence after police received a bomb threat email from an unknown sender, leading to an immediate response from law enforcement and bomb disposal teams.

According to officials from the Ekkattuthangal Police Station, cops took action after an email was sent to the Director General of Police (DGP) office that stated that a bomb had been planted at the actor’s home in the Ekkattuthangal area, news agency ANI reported.

Following the alert, a bomb detection and disposal squad, along with local police, quickly reached the scene and carried out a detailed inspection of the premises. So far, no explosive device has been found.

Investigators are working to trace the source of the email and identify the person behind the threat. Further investigation is in progress.

Arun Vijay, a well-known face in Tamil cinema, has starred in several acclaimed films, including Yennai Arindhaal (2015), Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018), and Chakravyuha (2016).

The actor is currently gearing up for the release of Retta Thala, directed by Kris Thirukumaran and produced by Bobby Balachandran under the BTG Universal banner. The film features Sidhi Idnani, Tanya Ravichandran, Yogi Samy, John Vijay, Hareesh Peradi, and Balaji Murugadoss in pivotal roles. The release date is yet to be officially announced.
