The investigation into Paul Pierce’s recent DUI arrest is still ongoing. The former NBA star was taken into custody on October 7 after officers found him asleep in the driver’s seat of his SUV in Los Angeles.

Authorities suspected alcohol impairment, but are still waiting for official blood test results to determine his blood alcohol content.

Pierce, who played 19 seasons in the NBA, has denied being drunk that night and said he was simply “old” and “tired.”

A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed on Monday that Paul Pierce’s blood test results are still pending. They said a local crime lab is handling the testing, and there is no clear timeline for when the results will be available.The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on October 7 near Lankershim Boulevard on the 101 Freeway. Officers were responding to a multi-vehicle crash when they discovered a Range Rover stopped in the southbound lanes.Officers reported signs of possible alcohol impairment and arrested him on suspicion of DUI. He was booked for a misdemeanor and was later released from custody.The case will be reviewed by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office for possible prosecution.

Reportedly, no injuries were linked to Pierce’s vehicle during the incident.

Paul Pierce denies being drunk

Paul Pierce has publicly denied that he was impaired. He took to his social media account on Threads on October 9 and explained his side of the story.He wrote, “Imagine being stuck in stand still traffic for 45 mins and falling asleep. I took this picture that night because I never been in stand still traffic for this long.”

“I’m old, I’m tired, and I fell asleep. I’m good y’all thanks for the love”, he continued. The former Boston Celtics legend, who led the team towards their 17th NBA title back in 2008, has not made any further statements on his arrest yet. The outcome of the case will depend on the blood test results and the city attorney’s decision.
