Boy held for murdering his father near Salem

SALEM: A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Salem district on Friday on charges of murdering his father. Police said a 43-year-old man was found murdered near his residence on April 20.

Police sent the body to the govt hospital for a postmortem and launched an investigation. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the man was in the habit of getting drunk often and fighting with his wife. Unable to bear the abuse, she separated from her husband two years ago.When police conducted inquiries with the family, the murdered man’s son confessed to murdering his father with a log, as he was disturbing his mother even after she had separated from him. Police secured the boy and produced him before the juvenile justice board.He was lodged at an observation home for juveniles in Salem.
