Citing frequent delays in receiving salaries, doctors demanded the Telangana government introduce a Bill in the forthcoming Assembly session to bring Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) under the Directorate of Secondary Health Services (DGHS). The winter session of the Assembly will commence on December 29. Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) said that several doctors did not receive their salaries yet though the date is 25th of the month.
“Any further delay in introducing the Bill would only push thousands of government doctors into continued uncertainty and financial distress. The Association leaders said that the only permanent solution to the recurring salary crisis is to remove TVVP from the corporation system and bring it under the DSHS.
The association said that they hoped that the long-awaited reforms would finally materialise and that doctors working under the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) would receive a permanent solution to their salary issues. However, contrary to these expectations, the situation has worsened and become increasingly distressing.
“Although this issue has been brought to the notice of the concerned authorities multiple times, it is deeply unfortunate that no clear decision or concrete action has been taken so far,” as per a press release.
They have urged the government to put in place a permanent system to ensure salaries are credited on the first day of the month, failing which it is prepared to initiate further course of action.
