Condemning the government lower primary schools at Sonna village and Badadal tanda in Afzalpur taluk of Kalaburagi district for not putting up the portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar during the hoisting of the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations last month, the members of All India Bahujan Samaj Party-Karnataka (AIBSP) demanded the suspension of headmasters of both the schools and strict action against them.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) district president Sunil Ingankal addressing presspersons here on Saturday alleged that the Block Education Officer has failed to take any action against the headmasters of both the schools even after 20 days. Instead of suspending the headmasters, the officer was protecting the headmasters who had insulted Dr. Ambedkar by not placing his photo during the flag hoisting on the Independence Day celebrations, he alleged and expressed that any act that insults the architect of Indian Constitution will not be tolerated.

Mr. Ingankal demanded the Deputy Director of Public Instructions (DDPI) to place both the headmasters under suspension immediately and threatened that the BSP members would picket the DDPI office if the concerned authorities failed to suspend them immediately.
