BU & central institute to carry out joint research on diff aspects of maritime sector

Berhampur: Berhampur University (BU) and the Indian Maritime University, a central university under the ministry of ports, shipping and waterways, Chennai will carry out joint research on various aspects of the maritime sector in Odisha soon.Both the universities signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard on Monday. “As per the MoU, programmes like exchange of students and research scholars between two institutes would take place. Similarly, the exchange of experts in the area of natural science, engineering, oceanography, maritime history, marine law, security and some other critical areas in marine sectors will be done,” BU vice-chancellor Geetanjali Dash said.Both the universities will also explore offering joint certificate courses in different subjects, related to the marine sector, including maritime informatics, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, among others.
