A Bengaluru engineer has donated a house he built for his late daughter to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), months after her death in a suspected murder. The 1,500-square-foot home in Ayyappa Layout, Munnekolal, now bears a nameplate reading “In Memory of Dr Kruthika M Reddy."
According to a report by The Indian Express, retired electrical engineer K. Muni Reddy had constructed the property, worth around Rs 3 crore, for his daughter Kruthika, a dermatologist, after her marriage to surgeon Dr Mahendra Reddy in May 2024. Kruthika died in April this year after allegedly being administered an intravenous dose by her husband while being treated for gastritis.
Six months later, forensic tests confirmed she had been given a fatal dose of Propofol, an anaesthetic permitted only for hospital use. Following the report, Mahendra Reddy was arrested.
“I built that house only to see my daughter living happily with her husband and kids," Reddy told The Indian Express, adding that he could not bear to enter the home after her death. “Her memories haunt me. I donated it to ISKCON three months ago."

Reddy said the family had checked Mahendra’s background before the wedding, adding that there were no serious concerns.
“Although there were some minor issues between the couple, which are common in any family, they were very minimal. She was an excellent student and a dedicated professional. If he had any problems, he could have filed for divorce and separated from her instead of resorting to murder," he told The Indian Express.
He also recounted an earlier health scare that now seems suspicious.
