Bureaucrat-turned-writer Devdas Chhotray will be conferred the prestigious ‘Sarala Puraskar’ for his short-story collection ‘Matinee Show’.
The award, given annually by the IMFA Charitable Trust (IMPaCT), will presented in Bhubaneswar on October 26. It comprises a cash component of ₹7 lakh, a citation, and a plaque.
Mr. Chhotray’s Matinee Show was published by Timepass Publication in 2023. According to the trust, seven books had made it to the final round.
IMPaCT also announced that the annual ‘Ila-Bansidhar Panda Kala Samman’ for lifetime excellence in the field of art will be conferred on famous painter Baladev Maharatha and renowned musician Guru Ramhari Das. Both will be given a certificate, plaque, and cash of ₹2.5 lakh.
