C.V. Anand takes charge as Telangana DGP

Senior IPS officer C. V. Anand on Friday (May 1, 2026) assumed charge as Director General of Police at Telangana Police headquarters in Lakdi-ka-Pul, Hyderabad, succeeding B. Shivadhar Reddy — who retired from service on April 30 after attaining superannuation.

The State government finalised Mr. Anand’s appointment in accordance with the Supreme Court guidelines laid down in the Prakash Singh case.
