Six farmers lose maize crop over 15 acres to fire in Telangana’s Mahabubabad village

A fire damaged the fully grown maize crop of six farmers in a village in Mahabubabad district of Telangana, which they suspect may have been caused by power lines near a transformer in the field. The Agriculture department, however, assured them of assistance on Thursday (April 30, 2026).

The farmers, in a complaint lodged with the police, stated that their maize crop over about 15 acres was damaged in a fire on April 26.
