A video of Erika Kirk, the widow of the recently assassinated conservative leader Charlie Kirk, hugging US Vice President JD Vance during an event has sparked widespread speculation online. Now, she has spoken about how every move she makes is constantly under scrutiny.

Reacting to the restrictions on media coverage of the court proceedings of Tyler Robinson during an interview, the accused in Charlie Kirk’s murder, Erika Kirk said that since cameras have captured her every move, every smile, and every tear, they should also be allowed inside the courtroom.

“There were cameras all over my husband when he was murdered," Kirk told Fox News’ Jesse Watters in a video shared on X.

“There have been cameras all over my friends and family, mourning. There have been cameras all over me. Analysing my every move, analysing my every smile, my every tear. We deserve to have cameras in there," she added.

Erika also broke down during the interview with Fox News when she was shown a video of Charlie. “Sorry guys, just give me a second. This is the longest video I’ve watched of him. Just give me a second," she said with tears in her eyes.

Fox News host Jesse Watters remarked that Charlie Kirk had been on a mission to “save Western civilisation," asking Erika Kirk if she had signed up for that cause. Erika responded softly, “I didn’t sign up for anything. I just married the love of my life."

Erika has faced intense backlash from critics who accused her of moving on too quickly after her husband’s assassination, pointing to her swift return to public life as the new CEO of Turning Point USA.

Her recent hug with Vice President JD Vance — and her comment noting the similarities between Vance and her late husband — quickly went viral, further fueling online debate.
