“Thank you for turning childhood dreams into realities. We started this journey when I was barely a kid, and throughout all this time you’ve accompanied me on an incredible journey, on and off the court. And I’ve enjoyed every step of it so much with you,” Alcaraz wrote in a statement.
Alcaraz also spoke about the heights he scaled along with the former French Open winner by his side. Alcaraz’s career has been on a meteoric rise to the top with true opposition only coming in the form of fellow dance partner Jannik Sinner and 23-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.

“We’ve managed to reach the top, and I feel that if our sports paths had to part ways, it had to be from up there. From the place we always worked toward and always aspired to reach.
“Now times of change are coming for both of us, new adventures and new projects,” his statement added. “But I’m certain we’ll face them the right way, giving our best, as we’ve always done. Always adding up. I wish you all the best from the heart in everything that comes.”
Ferrero also congratulated Alcaraz and spoke about their time together. But one line of his statement stood out. The Spaniard alluded to a partnership cut too soon when he said he ‘wished they could have continued working’.
Alcaraz will be looking to win the Australian Open next, where he will once again likely go up against the mercurial Sinner. How the dominance of Alcaraz is affected on his side of the bracket though, will be a curious by-story of the Australian Open.
