Case against former minister Anitha Radhakrishnan for remarks on TN CM Vijay

Tuticorin: A case has been registered against DMK MLA and former minister Anitha Radhakrishnan by Authoor police for making derogatory remarks about Tamil Nadu chief minister C Joseph Vijay during a public event.According to police sources, the case has been booked under two sections following a complaint over comments made at a welfare distribution programme held on June 20 in Authoor. In his speech, Radhakrishnan reportedly made remarks about the chief minister’s appearance, drawing criticism.During the event, he mockingly disparaged CM Vijay’s transition from cinema to politics.Speaking at the event, Radhakrishnan said: “He (CM) is in a state of anguish, wondering how he went from happily spending time at the actress’s home to finding himself trapped and cornered like this.”“I am a merchant; the moment a customer walks into my shop, I can tell whether he has come to borrow money or to buy goods with cash in hand. Similarly, just by observing the chief minister’s bewildered expression in the assembly, I could sense him pleading silently: Oh, what a disaster — you’ve really got me into a trap,” added Radhakrishnan.Police said an inquiry is under way, and further action will be taken based on the investigation.
