The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Professor from the College of Agriculture, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 55,000 from a private individual.

Acting on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap and caught the professor and individual, both the accused, red-handed while the Assistant Professor was accepting the bribe. The arrested individuals have been identified as: Shri Pavankumar Goudar, Assistant Professor, College of Agriculture, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Anand Kumar Dwivedi, associated with M/s Matrix Solution, Pasighat.

According to the agency, the Assistant Professor had demanded a bribe from the private individual in exchange for awarding a contract and facilitating the release of related payments. The CBI registered the case on July 23, 2025, against the accused public servant, a private person associated with a private company, and unknown others.

“CBI laid a trap and caught both the accused while the public servant was accepting bribe of Rs 55,000 from the private person. Both the accused persons were arrested on July 23, 2025 and presently they are in police custody,” the agency said.
