Central University of Jharkhand professor elected executive member of Indian Society for Radiation Biology

Ranchi: Manoj Kumar, a professor of the life sciences department at the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ), was elected as an executive member of the prestigious Indian Society for Radiation Biology (ISRB).The national body comprises leading scientists from premier institutions, including BARC and DRDO. Its 15-member executive committee will work from 2026 to 2028 to advance radiation biology research in the country.Kumar’s work on plant-based phyto-drug formulations, aligned with emerging global policies such as those of the US FDA, earned him notable acclaim. At CUJ, he leads a research group focused on medicinal plant studies, contributing to innovative approaches in radiation biology.The ISRB’s mandate encourages collaboration among plant biologists, oncologists and clinical researchers. Kumar’s inclusion is expected to further strengthen such interdisciplinary efforts.
