Andhra Pradesh Home Minister and in-charge of Vizianagaram district Vangalapudi Anitha on Saturday (August 2, 2025) said Chandrababu Naidu government was focussing on irrigation projects of Vizianagaram and other parts of North Andhra region to ensure three crops in a year.

Along with Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas, she interacted with farmers of Puritipenta village of Gajapathinagaram mandal of the district. Along with the farmers, she participated in sowing activity in the paddy fields.

Speaking on the occasion, the Home Minister said Annadata-Sukhibhava scheme was aimed to ensure financial assistance for the farmers who were worried with the skyrocketing of prices of fertilizers, seeds in the open market.

She said the government had directly credited the amount of the scheme in the bank accounts of the farmers without giving any scope for the involvement of middlemen. She said the early completion of Vamsadhara, Jhanjavati and other pending projects would ensure dedicated water supply for thousands of acres of barren lands of both Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and other districts. Ms. Anitha charged that the previous YSRCP government had completely ignored the development of backward North Andhra region and it was evident with little allocation for the pending projects.
