Patna: The city traffic police on Wednesday released a plan restricting the movement of all vehicles, excluding fire engines, ambulances and those of Chhath devotees, at multiple locations from noon to 7pm on Oct 27 and 2am to 8am on Oct 28 during Bihar’s biggest festival for the convenience of the devotees.All vehicles will be prohibited from Kargil Chowk to Didarganj, while all entry points on Ashok Rajpath will be closed. Vehicles of devotees will be permitted to operate from Kargil Chowk to Shahpur. Dedicated parking areas for these vehicles will be the premises of Patna College and Science College, besides Khajanchi Road.Vehicular movement from Digha Mor towards Ashiana crossing will be restricted. Vehicles can instead use Ramjichak Mor to Nahar Road route.
Autorickshaws and other commercial vehicles are also banned below the Gaighat bridge. These vehicles can travel via old bypass and Gandhi Maidan.Kangan Ghat-bound devotee vehicles can be parked on the City School and Mangal Talab premises. Similarly, at Gaighat, devotee vehicles can arrive via Purani or New Bypass. Vehicles going to ghats from Chowk Shikarpur AROB or Purab Darwaza will be parked under Guru Gobind Singh ROB and near Patna Sahib station.
Local devotees of areas like Marufganj and Jalla going to ghats like Adraghat can park their vehicles in a single lane on the approach road of JP Ganga Path near Malsalami TOP/OP.Traffic from the Sonpur end of JP Setu will also be restricted. Only devotee vehicles will be allowed on JP Setu from Ramjichak ROB, and they can be parked on the overbridge itself. Regular vehicles approaching the JP Setu from Rupaspur Canal Road must use the underpass.On Atal Path, emergency vehicles needing to reach Sonpur or Hajipur via JP Setu/Sonpur, can use the route under Ramjichak ROB via Ashok Rajpath and Rupaspur Canal Road. Devotee vehicles can be parked in a single lane on both flanks of Atal Path.For JP Ganga Path, stopping is prohibited between Digha roundabout and Didarganj, and U-turns are not allowed except for vehicles turning towards the ghats at the LCT underpass. Vehicles for ghats like Kurji Ghat, Pahalwan Ghat and Bans Ghat have specific entry and parking points.
