The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested rowdy-sheeter Jagadisha, 42, a prime accused in the murder of realtor and rowdy-sheeter Shivaprakash, 44, on August 26.
Shivaprakash was murdered outside his residence near the Ulsoor lake on July 15.
Jagadisha was on the run since the murder. Police had issued a lookout circular after realising that he had fled the country. Jagadisha was arrested as soon as he landed in Delhi airport.
Police claim that Jagadisha is a gangster and an associate of Byrathi Basavaraj, BJP MLA from Bengaluru. The police had arrested all the accused but Jagadisha managed to escape to Chennai from where he reportedly fled to Dubai (UAE), Thailand and Sri Lanka before landing in Delhi airport.
The family members of the deceased alleged that Shivaprakash was hacked to death due to a property dispute. The police will question Jagadisha to ascertain the exact reason and the possible role of others in the crime.
The police had booked Byrathi Basavaraj and questioned him many times based on a complaint by family members accusing that him of ordering the murder of Shivaprakash through Jagadisha.
