Citroen Racing to field Theo Pourchaire, Cupra Kiro retains Pepe Marti for Miami Rookie Free Practice

As the date for the upcoming Miami Rookie Free Practice draws closer, several teams have confirmed their participants for the event. Formula 2 champion Theo Pourchaire, who also took part in the Berlin Rookie Test, will represent Citroen Racing at the Miami Rookie Free Practice.

On the other hand, Cupra Kiro is not roping in any new rookie but is giving its current rookie driver, Pepe Martí, a chance to take part in the free practice on January 30.

Theo Pourchaire got his first taste of the Formula E GEN3 Evo at the Berlin Rookie Test. The French driver competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Peugeot and is the 2023 Formula 2 champion.Showing his dedication to the Miami Rookie Free Practice, Theo Pourchaire said, “I’m really happy to be returning to Formula E for the rookie test in Miami, and I can’t wait to take on another new track.

The last time I drove the car was in Berlin in 2025, so it has been a little while, but I’ll be doing extensive simulator work with the team to make sure I’m as prepared as possible for the session. The Hard Rock Stadium circuit is new for everyone, so I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s preparation and learning as much as I can in this unique environment.

Commenting on the same, the Citroen Racing Team Principal added, “Theo has already demonstrated his talent and maturity in previous rookie sessions, and we’re delighted to welcome him back.

He’s part of the family, and he delivered outstanding work for us in earlier tests. Miami presents a fresh challenge for every team, and his feedback will be invaluable as we look to build on the momentum from our successful opening rounds of the season.

Cupra Kiro driver Pepe Marti to participate in Miami Rookie Free Practice

Cupra Kiro driver Pepe Martí is set to utilise the opportunity to participate in the Miami Rookie Free Practice, as he has not yet driven more than two races during the season.

When the announcement was made on Cupra Kiro’s official Instagram page, Marti wrote in the comments, “still qualify as a rookie.”The Miami Rookie Free Practice will be held on January 30, a day before the Miami E-Prix final. The Round 3 race is a relatively new addition to the Formula E calendar after the series returned to the venue last year following a decade-long absence.
