A video, edited to confuse viewers, made it look like Shields was talking about the rapper. The soundbite did spark guesses, even DJ Akademiks captioned it “Claressa Shields says she beat up Remy Ma.”
But people close to Remy Ma confirmed the fighter was actually talking about Alycia Baumgardner in a video from the previous year. Remy Ma never had any confrontation with her in person. Still, the singer said she would have welcomed the chance. That means if Claressa had shown up fully looking for a fight, Remy Ma said she’d be ready. It says a lot about her confidence.
