Dhubri: CM Himanta Biswas Sarma distributed cheque of Rs 10,000 each to 18,300 women under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA) scheme at Indra Narayan Academy Field in Bilasipara on Thursday.He said Assam is marching towards creating a positive environment for women and empowering them to become self reliant.With the objective of making women in the state financially independent, Assam govt, under its flagship scheme, formally distributed entrepreneurship capital to members of self-help groups in the presence of Dhubri district guardian minister Ranjit Kumar Dass.In his address, the CM said, “During the Congress regime, people were given lungis, dhotis, yarn and blankets. If the BJP returns to power again, ration will be provided completely free of cost.”On Bangladeshi elements disturbing peace in Assam, Sarma said Bangladeshi agents operating here and trying to create unrest in Assam would be neutralised.
